Description

This DBQ was created with Ethnic/Black Studies teachers in mind and is relevant to Ancient Egyptian History. It aligns with the "Thinking Like a Historian" skills chart and includes the "Thinking Like a Historian" chart from the Stanford History Education Group.

Cheikh Anta Diop was a historian, physicist, philosopher, and Egyptologist. His seminal work: The African Origin of Civilization is foundational to the canon of Black intellectual thought, Black history, Black studies, and Ancient Egyptian History. One cannot truly be a scholar or teacher of African American history/Black Studies without encountering or having a reference point aligned with Diop’s text.
