In the Cuban Missile Crisis stations activity CSI investigation, students are introduced to the events that led to the Cuban Missile Crisis between Cuba and Fidel Castro, the United States and John F Kennedy, and the Soviet Union and Nikita Khrushchev. Students take on the role of investigators and study 14 different days from 1959 through the fall of 1962 to understand the events that almost led to nuclear war.
The Cuban Missile Crisis CSI Investigation is included as part of the CSI American History Bundle and the Cold War Resource Bundle!
Students complete a timeline activity as they navigate throughout the classroom (or delivered as a slow-release module) where they learn about the roles of Fidel Castro, Nikita Khrushchev, and President John F Kennedy. As part of this CSI investigation, students also learn about the failed Bay of Pigs invasion to overthrow Fidel Castro, the ensuing Operation Mongoose, the implementation of the trade embargo, the role of SAM and ballistic missiles, and much more!
Once finished, students tackle 5 overarching and highly-debatable questions to culminate their learning on the Cuban Missile Crisis! A full key is included!
