Description
The ice debate is a common one in sports medicine currently! This lab is not promote icing as a solution nor more effective than rehab and exercise whatsoever.
This lab is a fun hands-on way to introduce your students to various cryotherapy and thermotherapy modalities.
What you will need:
- Access to ice, bag, ice cups, and ice bath
- Access to hot packs
- Towels
This includes:
- Editable google doc
- 12 fill-in-the-blank questions
- Tables to record student data
- 4 graphs for students to plot data
- 8 free response questions
In my experience, this lab can be completed in 3-4 regular class periods (2 regular 1 block style). Students enjoy the hands-on aspect, but there are also kept working and critically thinking answering questions and documenting their data.
