If you're working with NGSS Standard MS-ETS1-1 or 3-5-ETS1-1 and looking to support student understanding of the concepts of criteria and constraints when conducting engineering design tasks, then this BOOM™️ card deck will help! The first 4 cards introduce the concept of criteria vs. constraint and guide students towards understanding. Then, students are provided with 16 examples of criteria vs. constraint that are similar to what they might see in an engineering design task. Students click to select criteria vs. constraint with hints along the way! Super helpful to support your NGSS aligned curriculum!
If you're new to BOOM™️ cards, they're fantastic as a support for distance teaching or remote learning. Think of them as interactive flash cards. They work well as a digital homework or for independent learning in station work. Think of them as self-correcting flash cards offering a variety of modalities (drag and drop, input answers, multiple choice, etc.) They offer digital guided practice of concepts.
Using Boom Cards
To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for modern Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires. For security and privacy, adults must have a Boom Learning account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with "Fast Pins," (a form of play that gives instant feedback to students for self-grading Boom Cards).
