What educators are saying

These are great activities to leave for a substitute or to use for the beginning of a creative writing project. My students got good laughs out of their creations. Thank you
It's exactly as described. I teach talent development and this is an excellent resource to use for this purpose.

    Description

Warm-ups for the brain not only important, they are the perfect way to start any creative time (like STEM or STEAM class)! Imaginations will soar as students think outside the box to take a simple shape and turn it into a complete and unique drawing. No two finished samples will be alike, and you will be amazed at what your students come up with. They will also get practice with mirror image symmetry drawing!

Drawing and sketching are linked to various mental benefits, such as deepening connections and pathways in the brain. It can also improve decision-making, coordination, and visualization.

    Here's what you'll get:

The drawing pages (80+ included) can be used for:

    • Bell ringers, do-now
    • Brain breaks
    • Early finishers
    • As a STEM or STEAM warm-up activity
    • As an icebreaker or get-to-know you activity! Compare and display student creations and make the connection that while everyone started from the same point, each drawing will end up at a unique and different ending. Same, same, but different! What a great to build classroom community and celebrate each other's ideas!

    Options to Use This Resource

    • Print these images at up to 4 per page to give students 4 different drawings to work on (or choose full size for younger students).
    • Save each page as an image and share virtually so that students can complete these activity using Seesaw, Peardeck, ink with Flipgrid, or use Google Slides, or any virtual tool with a drawing function!

Did you know that seeing something significant, such as a face, in a familiar or random object is called pareidolia? You may have experienced this in other ways, such as seeing animals in cumulus clouds, or finding recognizable constellations in the night sky. With this activity, your students will take a simple shape or drawing and turn it into what they see.

    What Teachers Are Saying

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Used these to start our mornings a few times a week. The students really enjoyed completing the pictures and seeing each others pictures. Very engaging and easy to prep."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this resource! It is a great way to keep students thinking creatively! I usually leave this activity when I have a sub or we have a shortened class period or we just need to add a little "umph" to our day! It's so much fun--especially at the end reveal of everyone's drawings!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It's so much fun and really gets students thinking outside the box. We have done two of these pages so far as a class and it has been so interesting to see what they come up with! My EA and I complete our own copy with the kids and we all have so much fun sharing what we have drawn. I could totally see using this and then having them write a short story about what they have drawn as well. Going forward, I think I will try and do one of these a month with my class. Thanks so much!"
