Creative Writing: Operation Author 3, Who Am I? Where Am I?

Part 3 of the Operation Author Series, this project is a study of developing characterization and setting. A review of adjectives and descriptive phrases kicks off the program, which progresses into mapping the traits of a number of interesting characters, and staging in storyboard style a setting that works for those characters. The culminating activity consists of completing a police report about a "suspect on the loose". Plenty of group brainstorming, discovering procedures used by famous authors, dramatization opportunities, and creative ways of approaching the writing process for elementary students. A matching Power Point presentation saves the teacher even more time!
