Description

New Google Sites is the ideal platform to learn how to make your first website – with an easy and intuitive layout a learner can design a website without coding in a short amount of time. Suitable for middle school students.

A comprehensive introductory unit (4 – 5 weeks) to teach learners how to make websites with the new Google Sites. There’s a comprehensive instructional slideshow for both teachers and students to help learn the way that Google Sites works. There are step by step instructions in student activity booklet on how to create websites of a professional standard. There are also 2 puzzles to help consolidate understanding of Google Sites.

Skills learnt from this unit would enable the learner to create other websites of personal or professional nature like an online resume, photography showcase, business website etc.

No teacher prep necessary. Teacher directed learning would be best but this unit is suitable for self-paced learning. Learner needs digital access to google drive and the internet. Unit can be completely paperless. Activity booklet could be printed if needed.

Pre-Requisites: Competent computer skills, experience with google drive, website attributes and the internet would be desirable.
