Description

This is all the paperwork necessary to create a new class that meets the requriements for many states new senior or graduate project. Course description: This elective class would walk juniors and seniors through everything they need to do to complete the graduate project. It would begin by helping students identify topics that they would be interested in pursuing, and then developing project ideas out of those topics. The teacher(s) would, when necessary, teach the students the soft skills to interact with potential mentors and how to find mentors. Then the focus would shift to writing the proposal letter. Students would be in a structured environment to complete the research and annotated bibliography required. They would also be free to work on their projects at this time. The teacher would teach how to write a reflective essay and provide class time for that item to be completed. Additionally, the students would prepare and practice giving presentations, in preparation for the final presentation. In class, the portfolio would be created and graded as the end-of-course assessment.
