What educators are saying

My students loved using this resource! They were super engaged. I can’t wait to use this resource year after year with all of my students. Thank you for creating an amazing resource!
Love this resource! Helped me organize my counting collections and loved the different options for response sheets.

Description

I absolutely love using counting collections in my classroom! They give my students the hands on experiences with counting, reasoning, and building number sense that they need. Counting collections help students practice oral counting, skip counting, recording and explaining their thinking, and problem solving and thinking strategically.

I have been using counting collections as part of my math workshop for several years and struggled with how to organize and manage them to be most effective for students. Then I created these Counting Collection Boxes! I love them because I can include all the resources my students might need right in the box with their collection. This makes set up, clean up, and maintenance so easy!!

This pack includes:

- How to sheets that include how to set up counting collections, launching counting collections, helpful tips, and a material ideas list.

- Celebration signs and brag tags to recognize when students complete a set of counting collections!

- Counting Collection Box Covers with 10 unique designs in black and white or full color.

- Counting support card to 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 to tape into the inside cover of each counting box (choose the level of support your students need or create different sets for differentiation)

- 5 Recording Sheet Options and a cover sheet to easily track students' progress

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
