Teacher Instructions
1st Version:
1. Students review the definition of a claim, counterclaim, and rebuttal.
2. Students review the counterclaim and rebuttal stems and example.
3. Students read each claim and generate a counterclaim and rebuttal for each, using the stems.
2nd Version:
The second version of the activity can be used for students who may struggle.
1. Students read the claims and counterclaims for the first and second example and provide a rebuttal for each. Then, students read the remaining claims and provide both a counterclaim and rebuttal for each.
