Cosmo Kid Song

The Cosmo Kid Song is about global citizenship and our common human dignity regardless of race, class, gender, ability, appearance and so on. It encourages positive self-esteem based on universal human dignity as opposed to social ranking based on positionality (power, place, race, class, gender, ability…) This song further encourages critical thinking, kindness and open-minded wonder. A sense of belonging and community on an expanding scale can come from seeing yourself as a unique individual with a shared human connection to the diversity of other unique individuals.

This song offers a choice in identity that includes all human's in the cosmos and was part of my Masters thesis on Cosmopolitanism in the classroom. In a world where racism, classism and sexism are daily lived realities for students lets help kids stay rooted in their local heritage while also expanding their identities and inheritance of all the cultural wonders of the world.
