Description

"Without Coretta Scott King, there would be no MLK Day." Bernice King

These are the words that inspired this resource. Coretta Scott King is often thought of as an activist because of who her husband was. When in fact, she was an activist her entire life! Before she even met her soon to be husband Martin Luther King, Jr. This resource guides you into a part of Coretta Scott King that maybe you haven't learned before.

She was such a remarkable woman and I wanted to provide this as a way for you and your families to dig just a bit deeper. Watch a few of the provided videos, read a poem that inspired her, read from the included booklist, and create art together to celebrate this amazing woman!

Use the critical thinking questions as family conversation starters, Or give them to your children/students to encourage them to research and answer them honestly. There's no right or wrong answers to these questions. They're intended for us and our children to think critically about what we're learning and form our own opinions.

This would be perfect any day of the year, as Black history Is American history! So whenever you find your way to this, I hope it serves you & your family well like it has mine.

Love and light,

Tanisha
