Description

This is a three page composition paper that will lead young students through a step-by-step process of composing an eight measure recorder piece! I created it for my 3rd graders who are beginning recorder players. It could be used for other instruments as well!

The first page leads students through the process of creating four beat rhythm patterns for eight measures in AABA form. Rhythms are written in a table with eight boxes. The measures are numbered and the form is displayed with the B section highlighted to help students.

The second page leads students through the process of transferring their rhythm boxes to the staff. There is a check-off process to help students keep track of their progress.

The third page is just like the second page without instructions for the students to create a beautiful final copy.
