Conversation Skills Role Play Scenarios Social Language Activity Speech Therapy

Are you out of ideas for social language groups in speech therapy? Or do you need something to help students practice conversational skills (such as initiating and turn-taking) in a structured and functional way? These role-play activities help generalize pragmatic language skills while increasing students' awareness!

Use the simple visual to teach several of the components of successful conversations. Then allow students to practice identifying these elements through 50 relatable role-play scenarios. After students read a script, they can work together to discuss and determine if (and how) the conversation may be improved and re-read the conversation with the changes they've identified!

The role-play scripts can be used with individual students and small groups. The PDF can be printed and used for in-person therapy or used digitally for teletherapy or an iPad. These role-plays are also great to send for homework!
