Description

Are you looking for some structured literacy phonics lessons to help your students master Consonant +le (C+le) syllables? These digital phonics lessons can be used to supplement or strengthen ANY core phonics program or curriculum. These Consonant +le syllabication lessons will have your students reading, writing and spelling multisyllabic words containing Consonant +le syllables in no time!

PLEASE NOTE: It is VERY important for students to have already mastered closed, open, r-controlled, and vowel team syllables BEFORE moving on to consonant +le syllables because words containing C+le syllables also contain closed, open, r-controlled and vowel team syllables. Students MUST have adequate knowledge of syllable division patterns such as VC/CV and V/CV. If you purchased and taught my open syllable, closed syllable, r-controlled syllable, and vowel team syllable lessons, you are good to go! These C+le syllable lessons will build on what your students have already been taught about syllabication. If not, that’s okay too, just make sure your students have a very clear understanding of the concepts listed above BEFORE teaching these lessons.

  • I have also included a ton of teacher notes, resources and instructional suggestions in the slide margins to help guide you as you work through each slide. I walk you through everything, step-by-step!

Why I Created These Lessons:

I created these lessons because my core phonics program was just not cutting it! No matter how hard I worked, my struggling readers were still struggling! After spending countless hours researching, attending trainings and webinars and hundreds of book studies into The Science of Reading, I quickly realized that my phonics program was never going to provide my students with the explicit, whole-group instruction they so desperately needed! I felt like a rock star in my small group, but because I was relying solely on my balanced-literacy curriculum to teach whole group phonics, I felt defeated and frustrated. NOT ANY MORE! I took matters into my own hands and created a series of structured literacy digital phonics lessons that are based entirely on The Science of Reading.

**Be on the look out for more explicit phonics lesson sets! I have thousands of slides just waiting to be posted! My goal is to post a new skill/lesson each month (I'm shooting for 1 a week, but trying to be realistic)!**
