These bright and fun alphabet cards help young learners learn the alphabet and spell their name through conditional coding. This activity is great for a whole group, small group, or station activity.
After downloading this resource you will receive cards that get early learners up and moving to the alphabet! These cards are easy to manipulate for small hands that are developing fine motor skills.
They are perfect for differentiating. Use them with a small group to help them learn the alphabet in a fun and interactive way. Use them with small groups of students or 1:1 to help students learn to spell their name. The motions will help them associate with the letter; perfect for kinesthetic learners. Use the cards with other small groups that are ready to spell sight words. This resource includes:
- 7 Alphabet cards with 4 letters to a page. Each card has the letter, motion, & corresponding image. Available in color and black & white.

This activity meets the following standards:
ELDS:
- Coordinate more complex movements with increasing control, balance, and accuracy (e.g., climbing on playground equipment, pumping a swing, bending, twisting, playing hopscotch, riding tricycle)
- Recognize and name known letters of the alphabet in familiar and unfamiliar words
- Make some letter-sound connections
- Use early developmental spelling. May use one letter for the initial or final sound to represent whole word
- Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
CSTA:
- Develop programs with sequences and simple loops, to express ideas or address a problem.
- Debug (identify and fix) errors in an algorithm or program that includes sequences and simple loops.
- Create programs that include sequences, events, loops, and conditionals.
- Modify, remix, or incorporate portions of an existing program into one's own work, to develop something new or add more advanced features.
