Description

Computer Game Planning Sheets {For Use with Scratch Coding and/or a Makey Makey}

Whether your students recently participated in the Hour of Code, you're running a Makerspace, or you just want your students to take coding to the next level, these computer game planning sheets are a great way to help your students plan out the games they create before they jump right in!

Included are 6 worksheets to help your students think about and thoughtfully plan out the computer game they want to create before going on the Scratch website to code their own game! Also included is a Teacher Notes sheet that includes helpful links on how to code games using Scratch and how to use Makey Makeys.

After creating their video game, students can fill out a sheet explaining how to play the game so that other students may play their game too. This is a favorite activity in our technology class every year!

If you want to take it a step further, students can use a Makey Makey to play their game once it’s been coded. A Makey Makey planning sheet and how to play sheet have been included so other students may try their Makey Makey video games as well.

These sheets work well in helping students plan how to code a game using Scratch whether you have a Makey Makey or not, but the final two sheets were created with a Makey Makey in mind.

I hope your students have as much fun coding and creating as mine do!
