What educators are saying

My students loved this activity! I loved the variety of questions, and how the really had to read the problem to determine what the question was asking for.
I left this activity to be done with a sub. It was very self explanatory in terms of directions and my students had no problem with it!

Description

Students will practice solving compound interest problems with this scavenger hunt. This activity includes interest that is compounded daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannually, annually, as well as continuously. The problems require that students find interest or total amount only. There are some challenging problems that require students to read carefully.

Simply print the 12 problems and scatter around the room (and in the hallway if possible), give each student a recording worksheet, group students, and assign them a place to start. The answer they get will lead them to their next problem. They continue looping around until they have completed all 12 stations. Be sure to have students record the letter at each station so they activity is easier to grade.

This activity works very well in conjunction with my Pre-Calculus Exponential and Logarithmic Equations Unit.
