Description

This is a fun recorder activity for St. Patrick's Day that will set your students up for success!

Students will:

*Review the notes B, A, G, high C, and high D on the recorder. Students write the notes on the staff and fill in appropriate fingering.

*Learn about ties and apply this knowledge in their compositions.

*Play a simple given melody in 3/4 meter

*Finish the melody within clear compositional guidelines.

Concepts:

*Recorder: Notes B, A, G, high C, high D

*Ties

*3/4 meter

*Pick-up note

Cross-Curricular Connections

*Students will learn about rhyme scheme of limericks, read example limericks, and even write their own!

*Students will experience the connection between poetry and music.
