Kindergarten and 1st First Grade Social Studies Worksheets- Map and Globe skills
I have recently updated this product to include more worksheets as well as a colored version of the easel activity. Each activity can be printed in black and white or can be seen in color on Easel.
This product currently includes 11 activities:
1. Color and label the land and water on a picture of a map and globe.
2. Map and Globe Sort- Cut and Paste Flap book Activity (Contains 3 sheets) Sort pictures of maps and globes. Create a flap that explains the differences between a map and globe.
3. Find and circle the Compass Rose on different maps.
4. Draw and label a compass rose with the cardinal directions: north, south, east, and west.
5. Label the compass rose with the cardinal and intermediate directions: north, south, east, west, northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast. Cut and paste or just write the word
6. Write the cardinal direction word for the location of the animal on the map of the united states. Say the sentence The ______ is to the ______ on the map.
7. Label the compass rose on a map of the United States. Write the cardinal direction words: north, south, east, and west. Draw the plant (sunflower, cactus, grape vine, apple tree) in the correct location on the map. The directions on the paper specify which location each plant should be in.
8. Write the intermediate direction word for the location of the animal on the map of the world. Say the sentence The ______ is to the ______ on the map.
9. Label the compass rose on a map of the world. Write the intermediate direction words: northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast. Draw the sea animal (seahorse, starfish, dolphin, jellyfish) in the correct location on the map. The directions on the paper specify which location each sea animal should be in.
10. Describe which direction the Gingerbread Boy ran to get away from the little old woman, the little old man, the cow, the horse, and the pig.
11. Describe the direction the Big Bad Wolf went to get to the three little pigs houses of straw, sticks, and bricks.
Teacher will need to model each activity so that students understand the directions.
