Description

This resource includes 12 linear graphs, 12 linear equations written in slope-intercept form, 12 verbal descriptions, and 12 linear tables. The teacher prints each type of representation on different colored paper, and students choose any two cards. Using the table, students compare 10 sets of card, calculating the rate of change and y-intercept on each. They determine which has the larger rate of change and y-intercept, then return the cards to pick another set.

An answer key is not included because answers will vary according to the cards chosen.

Compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions). For example, given a linear function represented by a table of values and a linear function represented by an algebraic expression, determine which function has the greater rate of change.
