Product/Materials Preface [Grades K-12]

This product consists of a number of materials for teachers in any grade. Implementing the Common Core ELA skills will be a little simpler with your very own progress report to gauge your students reading strengths and weaknesses. The Common Core Reading Anchor Standards are universal to grades K-12. They are not as specific as individual grade standards. They are a general overview of all grade school standards.

There is one gray scale form and one version with orange shading. You can use these stylish forms as a way to record your students’ progress. This is NOT a checklist but rather a way to record the dates of when a particular standard was assessed and how your student faired at that moment in time. Simply enter the date of when you assessed the strand. If your student did not do well with the topic earlier in the year—assess it again at a later date and record that date in the corresponding matrix. You can assess the standard over and over if you use a liberal size penmanship. You can now easily track any student’s progress over the course of the year!

I have also provided a set of 11 informative and decorative posters to hang around the room or for bulletin board display. The posters come in two versions—the straightforward standards as they were created to appear and in “I Can” format. The posters use the Common Core vocabulary. There is also 2 pages of bulletin board standard tags, a general reading log, a reading list sheet, a 6 week teacher planner, a daily teacher planner, an author study overview planner in 2 versions, and a daily ELA workshop planner in 3 versions.
