In this "Creature Investigation," students will have fun researching a legendary creature and writing an informative/explanatory report in any format highlighting the appropriate mood that the creature conveys. Students will use citations from resources about their findings, including:

• DESCRIPTION

• ORIGINS

• COMPARISON to another legendary creature

• CONNECTIONS to culture/country of origin

• MODERN USE TODAY

Students may work individually or in pairs or small groups and be engaged in the Common Core standards, including research, citing text, writing an informative/explanatory report, utilizing media, symbolism, comparing/contrasting, comparing history to fiction, etc. Enjoy!
