What educators are saying

This is a wonderful resource for teachers, paras, and students. It is well put together. It requires very little teacher prep and directions were concise.

Description

Do you sometimes have a difficult time coming up with deep and engaging questions to ask during guided reading groups? I know I do, and if you do too, you will find this product very helpful!

In this 13 page document are two sets of common core question stem cards that correlate with literary and informational text. The questions and tasks are structured so that they can be applicable to almost any informational or literary text. Students can respond orally, or in their journal and then share through a discussion. A benefit is that they are aligned with common core standards for Literature and Informational Text, so you know that your questioning will help prepare your students for how they will need to respond on standardized testing. For this reason, this would be a great tool to begin implementing at the beginning of the year!
