    Description

This self contained bundle consists of 5 products that will help students practice generate equivalent expressions by using the distributive property and combining like terms.

This bundle (which contains 30 pages of PDF, and 4 digital Pixel Art Google Sheets) has all you need to introduce the vocabularies (combine like terms, distributive property, practice (mazes, color by number, doodle math), and real life applications. It has answer key that will make it easy for grading and sub plans. This bundle contains only positive numbers so students will be able to complete it without knowledge of negative integers.

Reviews for other Doodle Math products or pixel art products…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Christine M. - I put this out as an extra credit assignment...The students who chose to do it seemed to enjoy the "doodle" part because it was different than a typical color by number task. Thank you!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Micaela F. - “Great resource and activity!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Megan F. - “My kids loved being able to combine their love of art with our current math skill. It was challenging and fun at the same time.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Teachertom (TpT Seller) - “My students loved this and the timing was perfect!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The Classy Teacher - "I used these with my accelerated 6th grade class. It was definitely challenging for them, but opened the floor for some great discussions and I think helped deepen their understanding of constant of proportionality."

Apply the properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions. For example, apply the distributive property to the expression 3 (2 + 𝘹) to produce the equivalent expression 6 + 3𝘹; apply the distributive property to the expression 24𝘹 + 18𝘺 to produce the equivalent expression 6 (4𝘹 + 3𝘺); apply properties of operations to 𝘺 + 𝘺 + 𝘺 to produce the equivalent expression 3𝘺.
Identify when two expressions are equivalent (i.e., when the two expressions name the same number regardless of which value is substituted into them). For example, the expressions 𝘺 + 𝘺 + 𝘺 and 3𝘺 are equivalent because they name the same number regardless of which number 𝘺 stands for.
