Description

Here is a fun and interesting art project about the Day of the Dead ( and Halloween) called, “Colorful Calaveras”.

It is a great occasion to discover this important cultural event, all while discovering a very talented artist: Pristine Cartera Turkus.

Pristine Cartera Turkus’ artwork is inspired by her Philippine origins. Her paintings are very colourful, and many refer to animal “calaveras” (skulls). Two of her paintings are included in this project, as well as questions to help guide you while observing her paintings.

You can also keep written records, as Art Appreciation sheets are also provided.

A new technique is offered in this project: The neon effect using dry pastels and oil pastels.

Add some colour and joy into your school hallways and classrooms with this original project.
