Description
This Power point has it all! It connects the age of exploration with the colonializing of North America. It also includes a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the explorers and the settlers. It includes all 13 original colonies, as well as, many economic, religious, and geographical issues that faced the settlers and their choice of location. It has a DBQ for a map of the Roanoke Colony, and it has short video clips included. At the end of the presentation, it includes a map to identify the colonies, and review questions. The review questions are animated with sound! ** Please note: If you choose to buy this, please watch all of the videos, as one includes the Thanksgiving massacre, which is controversial but very thought provoking. If a title is underlined in orange, please click on the word to go to the video as they are all hyperlinked. Also the DBQ has 4 clicks to reveal the picture so that students can talk about what they see. In the teaching resources, it has guided questioning. This is great for those teachers who would love to include primary documents, but need the questioning and resources to get started! This power point also includes John Smith’s Letter to Queen Anne, and the document based questioning sheet as well. All rights and credit are given to primary based document for DBQ, and for the videos from “America, the Story of Us” from History.com. The power point also includes all of printable maps, titles, and characteristics of the colonies for a flip book, practice map for map quiz, map quiz, answer key, printable student DBQ, and DBQ material and answers.
