Your students will love this engaging college research project in the form of an official College Madness Tournament! With this project, students will first complete a March Madness-style bracket with colleges and universities that interest them. Then, they will research key details about each university, such as majors and degree programs, the total number of students, distance from home, price of tuition, financial aid options, extracurricular activities, admission requirements, facts about the college town, and more. Each round, they will narrow down their college selection until they are left with the winning school!
Rather than just researching one college or university like some other projects, students will have the opportunity to research key details about several different schools to find the one that might be the best fit for them and their future goals! They will also need to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to decide which schools advance through the tournament and which will get cut.
