What educators are saying

Great resource to use so that I could create bookmarks with students' names. They then had to try to decipher what each paper said - no hints at first! Great problem solving activity!

Description

No Egyptology unit is complete without hieroglyphs! These images are perfect for creating classroom decorations, lessons on ancient writing and translating, or to use to enhance handouts. This clip art set includes different hieroglyphs for each letter of the alphabet. Each letter has 4 different variations including a black outline, a black and white image, and 2 different color variations with dark brown outlines.

All images are saved as png files with transparent backgrounds. They are 200 dpi. The smallest file is 1462x233 and the largest file is 2618x1986. All of the images are part of a zip file.

This hieroglyphic alphabet is based on Sir Alan Gardiner’s phonetic translation of Middle Egyptian. A few changes were made to make the alphabet clearer for modern English phonetic translations.

These images can be used in products you create to sell at Teachers Pay Teachers as long as credit me as the artist. These images will work well in PowerPoint presentations or worksheets to teach about ancient Egyptian art, history, culture, or writing.

These hieroglyphs would be great to use when creating Egyptian decorations for the Ancient Egyptian Mummy Reenactment Activity.
