Clay Gnome Sculpture Art Lesson - Handbuilding Clay Lesson

This clay gnome sculpture art lesson was a hit with my students and each one was unique! In this hand-building clay art lesson, students will create a clay gnome with 2 pinch pots and following clay procedures. Students will use creative problem solving to create a unique and original gnome, while applying craftsmanship to create and finish their gnome. The slides can be shown in class or shared with students to view on their own devices. The lesson includes standards, objectives, vocabulary (kiln, bone dry, slip and score, bisque) step by step directions with pictures, a "Gnome Idea Sheet", printable rubric, reflection questions, student examples, and a YouTube art tutorial.
