What educators are saying

Simple, yet effective way to compare and classify triangles. . The materials are well-organized and engaging, making learning fun for my kids.
This is wonderful to include with my lesson planning for my Master’s Degree and building my portfolio and creating artifacts.

Description

Identifying and describing triangles are some of the basic foundational steps of geometry and building a strong vocabulary and understanding of the words and phrases that go along with triangles are just as important.

In Classifying and Identifying Triangles, students will build upon any pre-existing knowledge of triangles to help them identify isosceles triangles, equivalent triangles, right triangles, and even scalene triangles. They will work together to build a solid understanding of what each of these triangles means and how they are identified. Students will also be presented with acute triangles and obtuse triangles as well.

The lesson included in this download can be used to help teach your students in whole group or small groups. Each of the activities (input and output) is interactive which will keep your students engaged. Students can use Exploragons manipulatives throughout the lesson to help build their triangle models.

This Download includes:

  • Teacher Directions (lesson plan with objectives, vocabulary, standards covered, and full directions for Input and Output)
  • Photos of the completed Classifying and Identifying Triangles Lesson
