What educators are saying

This worked so well for my students. This is the hardest part for them so this was wonderful practice.
This resource was an excellent way to recap all of the properties of quadrilaterals. I used it as a review tool.

Description

This card sort activity has students categorize 24 statements about different types of quadrilaterals ( Kites, Parallelograms, Trapezoids, Rectangles, Rhombi, and Squares ) as “Always True”, “Sometimes True”, and “Never True”.

How It Works

This activity includes 24 statements about relationships in Quadrilaterals. Students will cut out the statements, determine if they are always true, sometimes true, or never true, and match them to the correct column student response sheet.

What's Included

  • 24 Quadrilateral Relationship Statements
  • Optional Below Grade Level / SPED Reduced Work Version with only 9 Statements

The statements deal with comparing the different types of quadrilaterals. Some example statements are:

  • A square is a rectangle. (Always True)
  • A rhombus is a square. (Sometimes True)
  • A trapezoid is a kite. (Never True)
  • A parallelogram with at least one right angle is a rectangle. (Always True)
  • A quadrilateral with perpendicular diagonals is a kite. (Sometimes True)
  • An isosceles trapezoid has perpendicular diagonals. (Never True)

Please view the preview to see the resources in more detail including all 24 included statements.

Important Update: This resource has been updated as of June 2020 due to the answer key being available online. This resource now has new statements and a new answer key that can only be found in the purchased PDF.

Each statement has a corresponding number which makes for easy teacher checking by just matching the numbers. Answer key is included.
