What educators are saying

I use this to teach theater history and it helps prepare my students for individual research that they are required to do at the close of this unit.

Description

My first nine weeks of Theater I alternates between basic performance technique and the history of Greek and Roman Theater. I specifically ask students to compare and contrast the styles of theater and draw connections to the values of the Ancient Greek and Roman people. We read Antigone along with this history, make masks in class, and perform scenes from the play.

This is a bundle of my Greek and Roman theater history resources from the foundations of theater in Ancient Greece to the end of the Roman Empire. It is intended for introductory theater classes.

Included:
Ancient Greek Theater Presentations and Quiz
Ancient Greek Theater Timeline Interactive Notebook Pages
Antigone Anticipation Guide
Aristotle Poetics Interactive Notebook Pages
Roman Theater Notes Presentations and Quiz
Comparing Ancient Theater Handout

These resources work together as a great first nine weeks of theater history for an introduction theater class. Presentations all include I CAN statements that can be collected as a study guide for the included quizzes.
