"How Would This Turkey Walk?"
This fun, interactive game is used for Kindergarten through 2nd grade to introduce American Classical music in an accessible way for young children. It's so much fun to watch students' imaginations at work while they experience the excitement of classical music. This is a Smart Notebook file.
This game is especially useful to keep kids engaged during those two days before Thanksgiving break. With the question/answer sessions between pieces, this can be up to one 30-minute lesson. I usually add a few other fun turkey songs to make it a two 30-minute lesson.
THIS GAME REQUIRES SOME SET-UP FROM YOU. For copyright reasons, I cannot provide the sound files, but I have provided a comprehensive list of pieces that I use on slide 3. (It is very easy to link sound files to each turkey. See instructions on linking files on slide 4).
***Please note that you will have to link the turkey pictures to music files. However, you can do this easily with songs you already have or with youtube videos. I include a song list of popular classical pieces you can use, or you can use your favorites.
