Class Cookbook Project: Creative Nonfiction Mini Unit

This lesson set focuses on the world of cookbooks in a way that introduces students to the world of "food writing". It is useful in that it involves close-reading nonfiction texts, noting creative techniques, and practicing writing in a similar style. The final product results in a teacher having a compilation of student narrative writings and recipes that can be turned into a classroom cookbook.

The PDF includes eight (8) exemplar texts from popular cookbooks and Young Adult literature, multiple lessons to go with the exemplar texts, two (2) sets of discussion questions, and two (2) writing prompts.
