Civil Rights: HANDS-ON LEARNING - Many people have less than fond memories of their History or Social Studies class. This could be due to the long hours they were forced to spend reading the dry, dull textbook in class (cue the Charlie Brown teacher reading aloud). Or maybe it is because of the vast volume of information that felt overwhelming at the time (think fire hydrant trying trying to pour into a water bottle). Social studies is just the opposite of dry and dull. And it certainly doesn’t need to feel overwhelming!
