Civics/Government Bundle

This bundle includes resources which will help explain important concepts about government and reinforce student understanding. Some concepts included are types of government, checks and balances, the concept of nationalism, and where leaders get their power from.

The presentations include content, but they also have a check for understanding, and/or discussion questions and in some cases additional tasks for students to complete.

1. Types of Government Presentation: Introduces/reviews different political and economic ideologies and includes discussion questions, tasks & scaffolded notes. Editable.
2. Checks and Balances Presentation Presentation goes over each of the 3 branches using the US to illustrate and checks and balances. Includes questions which check for understanding. Editable.
3. Nation & State Presentation: Reviews national and ethnic identity, forms of nationalism, patriotism, sovereignty, and other concepts relating to nation and state. Includes discussion questions and various tasks. Editable.
4. Power Presentation: Goes over what power is, types of power, where leaders get power (power bases), and case studies. Includes discussion questions and tasks to engage learners and assess understanding. Editable.
5. Due Process Workbook: Has readings on the Bill of Rights and Due Process with constitutional references. Includes Supreme Court cases (in brief) and questions for students to show their understanding and critically think. Editable.
6. Totalitarianism Worksheet: Reviews what totalitarianism is, the elements of a totalitarian government, examples, and includes questions for students to show understanding and apply the ideas.
