Are you looking for ways to practice citing textual evidence while teaching your stidents about growth mindset? These growth mindset activities for middle school, focusing on reading comprehension, citing text evidence and writing with evidence will help. You can use these growth mindset activities to reinforce skills in reading comprehension and citing text evidence. This resource is easy prep, great for a sub, for after breaks, gearing up for test prep and back to school.

This is a printable and digital lesson plan that contains a reading comprehension activity, writing prompts and multiple choice practice for middle and high school students about growth mindset. Students complete a mindset assessment, then read an article on the brain and learning. The article discusses how the brain grows stronger the more it practices a skill, thus having a growth mindset is important when encountering new material for the first time and can really help your middle and high school students understand growth mindset. This lesson plan is aligned to CCSS anchor standard RI1.
