Description

Keep your students engaged with the circuit format! This circuit has 8 problems which are either volumes from revolution (require disks, washers, shells) or volumes built out of a fixed base with known cross sections (e.g. semi-circles, squares, triangles). Students must sketch the region (graphs provided), then set up the definite integral(s) to calculate the volume. Finally, students must use technology to calculate the definite integrals. To advance in the circuit students search for their answer. My students love this format. I can not get them to leave my classroom when the bell rings. Their discussion and questioning is excellent.

There is no answer key included because all of the answers are embedded in the circuit. The teacher should work the circuit him or herself first to understand the progression and what prior knowledge your students would need to have success with these eight problems.
