Cinco de Mayo Escape Room

Recommended for: Grades 4-6.

This escape room can be assigned individually or in groups of 2-4 students.

Activity Time: 30-40 minutes playing time if students do not use calculators.

STORY: Students must work to unlock each of the six rooms to reveal a traditional Mexican food eaten during Cinco de Mayo.

ROOM 1: Phone Puzzle. Students will use the phone key to complete 9 subtraction problems to reveal the coded Cinco de Mayo message.

ROOM 2: Clock Puzzle. Students will use the clock to solve 7 addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division math problems.

ROOM 3: Decoder: Students will use the decoder to solve 4 addition and subtraction problems with decimals.

ROOM 4: Cryptogram. Students will use the key to decode the secret message.

ROOM 5: Crossword. Students will use the word bank to complete the crossword puzzle to reveal the secret code.

ROOM 6: Math Puzzle. Students will solve the 7 addition and subtraction with decimals math problems to reveal the secret code.
