Description
This is a webquest on Christmas or Navidad traditions in Puerto Rico, with both paper and digital versions. Students will learn about how Three Kings' Day (Día de los Reyes) is celebrated, los reyes magos, what parrandas are, and the importance of January 6 in Puerto Rico. They will also compare/contrast their holiday traditions with those that they learn about in Puerto Rico.
This zip file includes:
- a lesson plan
- websites for students to refer to
- a student handout with 20 questions students will answer to learn about the traditions surrounding Navidad and Dia de los Reyes (+Google Doc version)
- an answer key
The questions and websites are in English, with Spanish holiday vocabulary. This is a good lesson to use right before Winter Break!
