Description

What kid hasn't wished Christmas, their birthday, Hanuka, or the Fourth of July could come around more than once a year? This wonderful, classic short story reminds us that too much of a sweet thing can quickly turn sour!

The story is paired with an article about the waste generated during the holiday season and a video about holiday recycling. This rigorous unit includes guided practice on how to closely read a complex text, as well as how to answer multiple choice, short response, and extended response questions. Each text evidence response is preceded by a graphic organizer that will help students organize their ideas. The internet activity serves as a great culminating activity that will allow students to synthesize all of the information they've learned.

Your students will enjoy this so much that they won’t even realize how much they’re learning or how hard they’re working!
