What educators are saying

These were great for my struggling readers so that they had something they felt confident in reading.
These were amazing. The kids LOVED the stories told. We used them to perform for parents. The "leveled" parts were great for making sure all readers were able to be successful with their parts. Great variety and enjoyable!.

    Description

Here are 6 reader's theater scripts for Christmas with stories about Santa, the elves, reindeers, the Gingerbread Man, a family looking for the perfect Christmas tree and a mouse and a girl too excited to sleep on Christmas Eve. The details:

    Two Original Scripts :

    1. Finding the Perfect Christmas Tree A family has never had a Christmas Tree because the mom is scared of them, but one day they visit Tomas' Christmas Tree farm and things change.

    2. The Elves and the Missing Toys It's the morning of Christmas Eve and the elves discover that all the toys are missing. Where did they go and did the reindeer have anything to do with it?

Two Scripts Adapted from Christmas Classics :

    1. A Wolf's Christmas Carol The Big Bad Wolf is visited by The Pig of the Past, the Pig of the Present and the Pig of the Future as he considers whether he really should be blowing down all the pigs' houses, especially on Christmas Day.

    2. The Night Before Christmas A baby mouse and a girl named Mary can't sleep because they are so excited waiting for Santa.

Two Scripts which add a Christmas twist to a classic folk tale :

    1. The Gingerbread Man at Christmas Mrs. Claus makes a Gingerbread Man but he runs away. She chases him and so do Santa, an elf and a reindeer. In the end the Gingerbread Man is eaten by a polar bear.

    2. The Elves and the Shoemaker at Christmas Two of Santa's elves have finished all their work early, so they leave the North Pole and head south. They stop for dinner in a small town and decide the help out the shoemaker and his wife.

Reading levels range from High Emergent to Fluent allowing for mixed ability groupings with each script. A list of the approximate reading level for each part is included in the Bonus File.
