Description
As a way to prepare my students for the upcoming final exam and connect them with some college and career plans, I created a project in which they can create a linear equation based on a job they choose from a list of options.
As a hook, students will write about a time they did not get what they want for Christmas. Then they will have the opportunity to describe their ideal Christmas in 2025. I have suggested a life with family, single and traveling, etc. Students will then estimate how much such a life will cost.
After that, students will choose a job and complete a table with a variety of hours they might work. They will plot data on a graph and then answer a serious of questions about the job they have selected and how well they could afford their dream Christmas.
