What educators are saying

These collaborative activities are FUN! The students enjoy making their individual parts then putting them together for the big pictures. Holiday-inclusive and a great way to decorate leading up to the holiday break!
My students love these! We work together to make one for every season and holiday. They are very engaged and enjoy collaborating with one another. We hang them in the hallway and always get a ton of compliments!

Description

Holiday Activity: Christmas and Hanukkah Coloring Table Posters. Think of these "Table Posters" as extra-large Holiday coloring pages for your students! XL coloring pages means XL fun!

My Holiday Table Posters are small posters (or big coloring pages) that you spread out on a table and have small groups of kids work together—or apart! They are immediately engaging, lead to great discussion and cooperation, and, most of all, they are fun!

My Table Posters are great for...

  • morning work
  • stations
  • centers
  • early finishers
  • rainy recess activity

...and as a bonus—they help decorate your classroom!

Basically, these Table Posters are the perfect solution whenever you want your students to collaborate and work together. I hope you find these to be as useful with your students as I do with mine.

...as one teacher said, "I have never seen my students work together so well! They absolutely loved this activity, and I liked that I could put them in small groups." - Ms. Appleby.

See all my Table Posters HERE.

This set includes the following designs:

  • Christmas Tree
  • Poinsettia
  • Ornament
  • Stocking
  • Gingerbread Cookie
  • Star of David
  • Dreidel

I spread these out on the tables when children arrive to class—and after some very brief instructions, they get right to work. And really, the only instructions I give my students are that they need to include their name somewhere on the table poster, and they can (if they want) write things that they like about the Holiday season, somewhere on the poster (since these are all holiday-related designs).

I enjoy listening to them talk about who will color, which section, and what colors they will use. I also hear them helping each other spell the words they want on their poster.

It takes 3 children about 30-45 minutes to complete one image. It is a great, calm way to get things going in the creative (and correct) direction!

And, as I mentioned, a bonus of my Table Posters is that when the kids are through, you get a set of beautiful images to decorate your classroom—it's always a good day when a collaborative activity results in a beautiful bulletin board display!

Unlike my popular, larger, collaborative posters—where children color the pieces according to a key, cut the pages out, and then assemble the poster—for these simpler Table Posters, you (the adult) cut the pages and assemble the poster first (it's super easy). Then the students color the fully-assembled table poster.

  • Each poster has 4 pieces, and each piece fits on regular 8.5” x 11” paper. If you have a parent volunteer or an older student from a buddy classroom, they could easily help you with this first part.

  • This resource includes the instructions on how to create my Holiday Table Posters.

I hope your students have a wonderful time working together on this Holiday activity.
