Description

Christmas math has never been so engaging! This Where's Rudolph? Christmas escape room is a high-energy, high-motivation, teamwork activity that is sure to engage even your most reluctant students this December.

Your students are going to LOVE this Christmas Escape Room activity where they will crack codes, overcome obstacles, and work together as a team, ultimately finding Rudolph and saving Christmas!

How does this escape room work?

First, there's a back story that you'll read to your students:

It’s the busiest day of the year at the North Pole – Christmas Eve! Santa and the elves are busy packing up the sleigh to begin delivering toys, and Mrs. Claus is making her delicious Christmas Eve supper. It’s time to get the reindeer ready to pull the sleigh. But someone is missing! It’s Rudolph! The elves frantically look for Rudolph all over the reindeer pen, but he is nowhere to be seen. This can’t be! Without Rudolph, the sleigh cannot fly, and Christmas will be ruined!

Are you ready for the challenge?

Next, your students will complete six different challenges (or obstacles) in order to find Rudolph and save Christmas.

The obstacles and materials are stored in a brown envelope. Teams will work through the obstacle, and when they are finished, they will bring the materials back to the teacher, then get the next obstacle. This makes for easy preparation and storage!

My principal came in during the Escape Room and was so excited to learn from the students exactly what they were doing! It was amazing to hear them tell him all about their different challenges!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I teach children with emotional behavioral disabilities ranging in age from 7-11, with math abilities that range from below to significantly below grade level. I have to admit that I wasn't sure how the older ones would respond. They were so excited and engaged! They worked together and there were no problems. In fact, they asked me could they do an escape room every week! Thank you so much for this resource!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Gets us through the final days before winter break! Kids are focused, working together, and practicing skills!"
