This Christmas Figurative Language Digital Breakout includes fun activities for the middle school ELA classroom. These include:
- sort of figurative language
- identification of figurative language in famous excerpts
- matching Christmas idioms to their meaning
- and a chance for students to write their own examples
Figurative Language included:
- simile
- metaphor
- alliteration
- personification
- onomatopoeia
- idiom
- hyperbole
*Note: the last task asks students to write their own figurative language, so that section is not self-grading as the others are.*
