Perfect research activity between Thanksgiving and the Christmas Holiday break. Let your students take a trip around the world with this fun Christmas Around the World activity. Each student will learn how a different country celebrates the Christmas holiday as they fill in one of the 25 poster activities. They can report back to the other students, helping the entire class learn about how Christmas is celebrated around the world.
I have marked these research project posters for grades 3-5. Please use your best judgment and click on the PREVIEW button above to get a better idea as to what you are purchasing. You know your students best, so you are the best one to decide if these are something your class might benefit from.
Grab your media specialist, get your computers ready, and have fun learning about some new people. There are many websites on the Christmas holidays and how different countries celebrate. You could bookmark sites and use this as a fun computer lab activity.
Your students will have fun sharing what they have learned about how their assigned country celebrates Christmas by using this 8.5 x 11 poster activity.
On each “Christmas around the World” poster you will find the name of a country along with a black/white outline image of the person representing the country.
On each “Christmas Around the World” Poster research activity, students will fill in the below information:
*Their own name
*When the holiday is celebrated
*Gift Facts
*A symbol of the holiday- can be an illustration, too
*Snapshot of the holiday-illustration in the photo frame
*Flag- illustrate the flag for the country using the flag outline
*Mark the country on the world map
*Santa is…. (Write about what Santa is called in the country, when he delivers gifts, etc)
*1 fun fact
*Fill in the speech bubble to say ‘Merry Christmas’ in the language of the country
*Tell about 4 holiday traditions.
******Please note, there are 25 posters, so if you have more than 25 students, you can assign an additional country using the blank form, or maybe two students can do the same country.
