What educators are saying

My students loved this resource during class. It engaged them and they were able to use it with no problems. It didn’t take a lot to prepare this resource, so I found it helpful to pull and use. I was able to adapt it for my lower and higher leveled students.
Such a great resource for students to read and share during the holiday seasons. It's great to celebrate other cultures and holiday traditions and start a discussion about personal traditions and cultures.

Description

This super fun Christmas Around the World, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa Reader's Theatre will be a hit with your students!

They will also learn a lot about other countries and their Christmas traditions.

This pack has been updated on 11-4-15

Please see Preview for a better look...

Included are 28 child parts in this Reader’s Theatre Presentation

-The parts tell the audience the traditions of their country from the point of view of a child.

-Each country featured has two child parts.

-Hanukkah and Kwanzaa parts are also featured as part of the presentation.

The colorful pictures of the characters should be used on the front page of your reader’s theatre page. I put the play part on one side of a piece of construction paper and the character on the other side. The audience should see the characters. (another idea would be to turn the characters into puppets).

The two children will read their parts and then you move on to the next two readers, etc… until all the children have read their parts.

Also included…

-Lyrics to It’s A Small World can be performed as part of the program.

-An invitation to the Reader’s Theatre presentation

-A Christmas Around the World mini book where students can write down information about the different countries

-A page where students can write 3 different traditions or customs that they celebrate

-Seven Principles of Kwanzaa activity-students will make a necklace of the seven principles

-A map of the World where students can locate their country
