Need a fun and simple way to practice addition or subtraction around the holidays?! This low-prep, Christmas tree craft is JUST what you need! This Christmas addition craft (or subtraction craft!) will keep your kiddos engaged and learning right up until break!
With the Christmas addition craft, your kids will choose a number of ornaments and color them two different colors. Then they will fill in the word problem to show how many ornaments there are in all.
With the Christmas subtraction craft, your kids will put some ornaments ON their tree and some OFF their tree. Then they will fill in the word problem to show how many ornaments fell off their tree.
This Christmas addition craft (or subtraction craft!) is super easy to differentiate - help your kids choose an addition or subtraction fact at their level in order to show a problem that they are able to work with!

Tips for use in the classroom:
✅Copy the addition or subtraction tree and ornaments for your kiddos.
✅You can give your kids a certain number of ornaments or let them choose how many to use!
✅Then your kids will color, cut, and put together their Christmas tree. Glue on a large sheet of construction paper. (The paper in the sample photo is 12 x 18 inches.)
✅Once their tree is together, they can fill in their word problem piece.
✅These make a cute display too!
